Cutting-edge data analytics and visualization at the University of Michigan
The Michigan Child Care Related Infectious Disease Surveillance Program (MCRISP), established in Washtenaw County in 2013, is a free online illness reporting system for community childcare centers and is the result of a collaboration between the University of Michigan and local public health authorities.
Neon was approached to rebuild the existing MCRISP system from the ground up with a simple-to-use interface for the network’s users. We implemented data visualization dashboards in the new system to enable public health officials and childcare center directors to view and manipulate public health data. The MCRISP system empowers healthcare providers, public health experts, and childcare centers to better understand how and what diseases are affecting children in the Washtenaw County area and to take action to protect the health of children. MCRISP currently represents the wellbeing of more than 4,000 children in the Greater Ann Arbor area.

Integrating with a high-performing team for a product showcase
ToDoolie is a rising Detroit startup that connects homeowners with student workers to complete household tasks including yard work, cleaning, moving, delivery, and more. In early 2020 the team secured acceptance into the prestigious Techstars Chicago accelerator program, had a tight timeline to ensure the completion of their mobile app for the program’s demo day, and were facing a number of key challenges.
Neon met with key ToDoolie stakeholders and uncovered significant gaps between the team’s business goals and technical roadmap. After refining the roadmap we then integrated with ToDoolie’s team on-site in their Detroit offices to lead development and implementation of the crucial features required to meet the demo day deadline. ToDoolie featured a successful showcase and has since closed a round of funding.
